Often referred to as "The Jewel of the Desert," Las Vegas has long been recognized as the entertainment vacation capital of the country, and the Las Vegas Strip - at the heart of this play land - sparkles like no other place on earth. An array of themed resorts will transport you to various exotic realms - from a medieval castle to a Parisian sidewalk cafe, a lakeside Italian village, or a pyramid in ancient Egypt. Don't forget to visit the Las Vegas Strip hosts thousands of motorists a week. The Las Vegas Strip offers a variety of fascinating visual experiences that will enchant and mesmerize visitors of all ages. The many facets of this corridor outshine all others, combining to make it truly a one-of-a-kind destination, well deserving its designation of an "All-American" Road.
The Strip Naturally, casinos continue to draw tourists to Las Vegas. From penny slots to high stakes table games in private salons, you'll find it here. But there's much more to Las Vegas than gambling. Our weekend itinerary highlights attractions of a different sort, from the choreographed fountains at the Bellagio to the Elvis-A-Rama and Liberace Museums. Las Vegas is also surprisingly family-friendly. In an attempt to appeal to kids, the hotels have spent millions developing technically sophisticated indoor amusement rides like the Race for Atlantis.
Downtown Downtown is where the fun all began in Las Vegas, a century ago. With a long and storied history, downtown still rivals the Strip as a favorite Vegas destination. Vegas past and Vegas future live side-by-side downtown, where the Fremont Street Experience, a spectacular 70 million dollar canopy of light and sound, envelops the historic hotels and casinos along four blocks of Fremont Street. Like most things in Vegas, downtown shows best at night.
Downtown is where you'll find the brighter-than-day white lights of Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel. Also, the Golden Nugget, where casino mogul Steve Wynn founded an empire. Don't forget the venerable Golden Gate, Vegas' first hotel, built in 1906, which is still pulling them in from Fremont Street.
Henderson and Surrounding Areas Just minutes from the glitter of the Las Vegas Strip, Henderson, Nevada offers the ultimate in resort destinations for both business and pleasure. Henderson is ideally situated amid the glamorous Las Vegas Strip. Naturally, because of the terrain that composes the great Nevada, the golfing is excellent. There are numerous challenging golf courses in Henderson such as: Reflection Bay Golf Club,The Falls Golf Club, and the Revere Golf Club. Also, don't miss the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory where you can see the process of chocolate making and even try free samples! Las Vegas is the "city that never sleeps" and you will certainly never be without entertainment!
